Some resident of Assin North and Assin Central municipal have called on the two municipal Assemblies to, as a matter of urgency, put in place measures to curb the spread of coronavirus as they records first two cases.
The growing indignation and panic among residents expressed fear after a 33-year-old businesswoman based in Obuasi of the Ashanti region, came to a community in the district some weeks ago and went to a health facility for screening for the coronavirus disease and subsequently tested positive.
The residents in an interview with Offinso Time FM reporter David Amaglo hinted they are in a state of fear following imported of the disease to the municipal.
Reporting for Time FM news, David Amaglo reported that a taxi driver in Assin Fosu Township who is in his early 30s is also tested positive of the virus.
Some resident of the infected community’s are calling the shots to implement proper measures amid halting the spread of the deadly virus.
A resident who spoke to David Amaglo advises some recalcitrant people in the municipality who think Covid-19 is nothing to worry about must adherents to the preventive advice given the health professionals.
He stated, all the 3 municipal Assemblies; Assin North, Assin Central and Assin South had response teams in place working in coordination with the Ghana Health Service and other stakeholders to check the spread of the disease.
In his report, he said, the two patient has been quarantined and contact tracing had begun to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
