Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has rendered an apology to Besiktas for his ‘perceive’ unprofessional behaviour in Saturday’s 2-1 home loss against Antalyaspor.

Boateng was videoed throwing away his shirt to the ground after he was replaced with Umut Nayir in the 65th minute.

However, the 33-year-old took to Twitter to clarify the issue, saying his actions have been misinterpreted but he took the opportunity to render apology to the club and fans.

“I would never disrespect to throw the Be?ikta? shirt on the ground. After leaving the game, I tried to take off my jersey and throw it towards our outfitter in the hut. I don’t even have a disrespectful attitude towards this club and jersey. But I’m sorry if it was understood from the outside.”

Antalyaspor started the match brightly and deservedly got their noses in-front through Gumus Sinan in the 15th minute before Amilton doubled the lead ten minutes before half time.

Adem Ljajic managed to pull a goal back but it was too late as the visitors held on to record a victory.
