Embattled former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Allotey Jacobs says the two factories commissioned in Central Region is an indication that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is taking the region to heaven.
According to him, prior to this period, he never believed that the one district, one factory policy was a reality but joining the Akufo-Addo led administration during its commissioning of two factories has made him believe in the Policy.
He noted that the two factories have the potential of providing employment to the people in the Central Region and that is all that matter adding that now even fishermen are growing pineapple in order to feed the factories with raw materials.
The man who has been suspended from his political party said he is a nationalist and will not join others who are naysayers and do not believe in the good works of the Akufo-Addo administration because he has seen what is going on and is very impressed by the sight of it.
“There is the need for us to join to help so that in four years to come we may have 21 One District, One Factory. I see this industry which is having the potency of producing 21 industrial items then there is hope for the future of the Central Region. I’m a nationalistic person and I believe that Central Region being one of the most poorest regions will have to survive.
If under this government, policies that are been initiated inure to the benefit of our region, why not clap for them? If we do that of kind of Accra dirty politics where we will be insulting one another where programmes, contracts, projects haven’t been completed and were completed by this government and people will be talking some kind of bad language around it, for me so far as this region is concerned, having these two factories is one of the best things for us that it looks like Central region is heading towards heaven.”
