NPP implementing NDC’s manifesto — Mahama

The flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, has stated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is desperately implementing the NDC’s People’s Manifesto after chastising the NDC of not having a manifesto.

According to him, since the official launching of the manifestos of both the NPP and the NDC, the NPP had abandoned their manifesto and rather discussing the provisions in the NDC’s manifesto to the extent of implementing the manifesto of the NDC.

“The NPP told Ghanaians that we, the NDC, did not have a manifesto and yet after the NDC launched its manifesto, they have started executing key highlights of the manifesto of the opposition NDC,” he said.

Tour

Mr Mahama was speaking at a durbar of the chiefs and people of Agona Swedru at the Swedru Main Lorry Park as part of his five-day campaign tour of the Central Region last Wednesday.

He was accompanied by the National Chairman of the NDC, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, former Trade and Industry Minister, Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, former Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister, Madam Sherry Ayittey, former Ambassador to United Kingdom, Mr Victor Smith, among other party bigwigs.

NDC’s promises

Mr Mahama said NDC’s promise to change the Act banning ‘Okada business” had also sent shivers down the spine of the NPP who are claiming that the government had already initiated plans to that effect.

“I wish to call on the NPP not to shy away from implementing the transformational policies and programmes contained in the NDC’ manifesto since it was carefully drafted for the benefit of all Ghanaians” he stated.

He further called on Ghanaians to vote for the NDC in the December polls to enable the party to fully implement the people’s manifesto for the ultimate benefit of all Ghanaians and not a select few.

New Swedru market

Mr Mahama reiterated the party’s 2016 promise to construct an ultramodern mini type of the Kejetia market at Swedru to boost commercial and economic activities as well as improve the local economy.
