The opposition National Democratic Congress’ Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prapram Constituency, Hon. Sam George Nartey has served a strong signal of caution to national security operatives ahead of the December 7 elections.
He made his view known during a well patronized health walk organized by the National Democratic Congress in the Ningo Prapram constituency.
In attendance were MP for Shai-Osudoku, Hon. Linda Ocloo, MP for Ada East, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, national communication officer of the party, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, regional executives, constituency executives and other big wigs of the NDC.
The speakers took turns to address the large crowd and charged the electorates to retain their respective NDC MPs and also cast their vote for the Flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama.
During his turn to speak to the crowd, the MP for Ningo Prapram, Sam George Nartey warned against the deployment of national security operatives to the constituency to cause confusion on the day of election. ” I am putting this out and serving notice and warning, no national security operative would be allowed in this constituency on election day. We asked that question clearly, we were told only police officers and military officers in their official military uniform will be on duty,” he said.
He recounted what happened during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election. “No body in brown kakie uniform, like we saw in Ayawaso West Wuogon would be allowed to misbehave here.”
According to him, if any hoodlum comes to the constituency to cause confusion on December 7, claiming to be a national security operative, they will rise up in defense of the constitution and deal with them as criminals.
He went ahead to charge the IGP to deploy as many personnel as possible to the constituency since they have identified it as a hotspot, rather than relying on national security operatives, in order to ensure a peaceful election on December 7.
