The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has charged the Electoral Commission (EC) to exhibit transparency in the declaration of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary results.
According to the party, declaring results, which do not represent the will of the people, is likely to promote instability in the country.
In doing so, she said, “We encourage the EC to thoroughly review all allegations of criminality and electoral infractions and to calm the tensions in the nation by announcing figures that reflect the true will of the people”.
In a release sighted by Citi News, the flagbearer of the party, Brigitte Dzogbenuku urged political parties to desist from hasty congratulations since such acts are likely to promote insecurities in the country.
“In this regard, premature congratulations are out of order, particularly at this time when the election is too close to call. Let us desist from this practice. It has the tendency to promote instability in our dear nation”.
